BLWP 9 - 20 Imperial 1s

Our second match of the season started with 11 out of our original 13. The freshers’ music concert had taken most of 1A and so to make it a fair fight Tim and Chloe valiantly agreed to join 1A for the evening.

Our first quarter was much improved from our first match and we managed to stay on our man much better than the previous game. A penalty against us became a goal and we finished the quarter a respectable 3-2.

The second quarter found IC shooting into the big goal which unfortunately they were pretty good at. Whilst we kept on our player, we found that they moved into all our free spaces and set themselves up well to score.

The third quarter was full of drama- a good shot from IC hit the head of the keeper who briefly saw stars and sat out the rest of the quarter. Aleks bravely took her place and, facing shots from everywhere, found some novel ways to save the ball.

Everyone was getting tired for the final quarter but a last push helped us to end with our heads high. Some poor catches meant we lost the ball more than we should have but a penalty by Liam helped us to stay on track.

Overall, we should be really pleased with our performance. Still lots to improve but a score to be proud of nonetheless!
