The Pink Newts

The Pink Newts are BLWP's alumni side. Formed by former students at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, they currently play a BLWP select VII once a year.

The Pink Newts are headed up by our Staff President, in conjunction with the Club Captain and the club's Alumni Officer. We have alumni of all ages and abilities still involved with the club, including those who last played water polo for their medical college almost 30 years ago!

Events and Tour

We hold a dedicated match, Old Boys and Girls, where current students play a select Pink Newts Alumni side each year. Our Alumni also frequently join us at our Club Annual General Meeting, and at other events throughout the year such as our freshers curry at brick lane, and our annual club Christmas Dinner held in Central London. Some of our Alumni also choose to join us on our local and international tours each year.

In addition to this, we have recently decided to set up an Alumni Subs membership. This is a way of quantifying our Alumni as well as enabling you a one off payment that covers any training sessions you wish to attend, Christmas Dinner and Old Boys and Girls meal.
