Blackwell vs UCL - 27/01/2020

UCL 5 - 15 BLWP

The scene is set. 12 gorgeous, not all singletons, entered The Villa. The Villa is Energybase. There was no sun and bodies were paler than one hoped, and scaffolding unfortunately with no scaffolders in sight.

AND SO WE BEGIN!

It was straight to business from the get go. The starting seven sent out a clear message - we are here to win! In a minute we got 3 goals, but that was not the end of it. We stayed tight and did the basics, and it paid off. The ball was Blackwell’s type on paper, and our heads weren’t turnt with us scoring 3 more goals in the final minute. We ended the quarter 3-6 up. It was a good start!

The bombshells came in the shape of our Fresher wings in this quarter and they rocked the Villa (The Villa is still Energybase). And nothing proved it more than in this quarter with amazing assists between the two - the chemistry was palpable. The duo ended the quarter by getting a goal each. What also become apparent was their goalie type wasn’t 5”9’, tanned, brunette pit players. With him giving clear instructions for “full force on that one” but all is fair in love and war(ter Polo).

The public has voted and it decided that reffing will be leaving The Villa, it was never seen. There where sharp nails, ball unders, and some obvious fouls that weren’t given. This left us with the question of was it ever there? It was a quick moving quarter, but our reliable wall Omar made a string of spectacular saves. He was grafting the ball intensely so he could couple up with the goal and get himself that blue tick and that Boohoo Man sponsorship. Moves were made by Blackwell and they locked up another 3 more goals in this quarter.

We were happy with being 4-11 up but we knew we could be happier. Setting out the goal that we will have a display of classic Water Polo, and leave it out on the field. Marco showed them that shooting was a bit a him and gave us another 3 goals. Our Fresher James, not to be forgotten, added to his tally and added another goal on the board.

Twas a night of romance and one to remember, a whirlwind leaving us all on cloud nine. However it ended with only one of the boys waiting for us on the outside. But a victory will always keep you warm at night and cooking you breakfast in the morning.

I sign-off today so proud of everyone, and missing a chunk of my face. It was a great way to start the second half of the LUSL season. Freshers and Seniors alike, it was an amazing show.

Wet fluttery love
