Women vs LSE - 22/11/2018

LSE 17 - 7 BLWP

Following our first two matches being cancelled we were not sure if this match will happen as we lost our confidence in scheduled fixtures. However, once we lined up, we were confident that this is it - our first match of the season! The match already started with a little personal win for everyone as we all passed the nail check! And so did LSE, however, after the match we questioned that a lot.

You can say that each quarter was quite consistent from our side when it comes to the number of goals. In the first quarter our lovely flexy treasurer Imogen scored the first goal with an effortless flick which left LSE in astonishment. Only for a while though as we lost this quarter 5:1.

With a bit of coaching from our one and only club captain Marco, we started the second quarter well. Although we were a bit tired, we manage to score 2 more goals thanks to Imy's strong arms as well as Gracie's return to the pool.

After half time, we were a bit tired and frustrated as LSE did not turned out to be too nice to us. However, we can proudly say that it was probably the best of all the quarters in this match - we scored 2 goals (well done to Im(y)achine again and tadpole Emma - her first goal woop woop) and we lost only 3!!

The last quarter showed all of our weak spots the most... this is when we realised how important are our Wednesday workouts and trainings for improvement of our fitness. We fought till the end and used as much of our left anger as possible which resulted in 2 more goals scored by an ex-York water polo star - Chloe and myself.

Overall, this match, even though frustrating at times, it was an extremely good lesson exposing all of our weaknesses in fitness, tactics and formation. Motivated after the loss, we will be able to push ourselves and work hard on skills that require improvement, so that we can do much better at the next matches!!!

*Also huge shoutout for our lovely supporters Marco, Jono, Omar and Connor!!!
