Surrey 20 - 6 BLWP

An away matches against Surrey are probably one of our favourites... not! A night tour to Surrey started at 7:30pm at Blackfriars train station. We all gathered on time and so had some time to relish some snacks provided by Gracieee <3

The train ride was quick and consited of some fine discussions and/or naps. We made it to Surrey with 1h spare to begin our cross country journey to the pool. For the first time we did not attempt to cross the highway and hence we all made it fine.

As per usual, the size of the pool (as well as our team) terrified. After weird ID check required by Surrey captain we started warm up and just when we were about to start, our last player, Liv, jumped into the pool as she was coming on her own, straight from a derm conference.

The whole match was just... tough. The shot clock and a long pool was not our favourite plus we were missing quite a few of our main players.

After not scoring any goals in the first quarter, we picked up our game! Southampton showed some of their nasty sides and hence we got to score two penalties (one by Chloe and one by myself). In the third quarter Chloe got maaaad and scored two torpedo goals leaving Surrey in an awe. Last quarter was crowned by a goal from Liv and myself.

This was a definitely extremely challenging match, however, every experience and a game like that teaches us about our abilities as well as polishes our coping with loss mechanism. I am happy with what we have done there and that we gave 100% of our heart and strength! There is a lot to work on and thank God for this 🙌

Goals:
Chloe (3)
Liv (1)
Ania (2)
