Women vs Bath (H) - 05/02/2025
BLWP 03 - 15 Bath
The second round of the cup. We set about for a fun, no pressure, training match. After a few of us travelled to Exeter in first year, there was no way we would want to relive the PTSD of going back there. With firm words of we are not winning this match from Leech, we knew our goal. Although Bath were one step ahead of us wanting to walk us over for anything and everything. After our ref confusing 3pm for 8pm, this didn’t bode well for Bath wanting to walk up over. With the fear of a hefty walkover fine, Josie stepped up and kindly offered to referee.
Quarter 1. With all our tadpoles in the pool, Leech and Miracle flow watched on with amazement. The girls feed the ball around with accuracy and speed. Tadpole Aida looked strong on the wing, chasing her player up and down the pool. Meanwhile Ick-thys honed in inner skills in pit A, putting her practice of positioning to good use, allowing good attempts on the goal. Tadpole fiona tried her hand on the wing, feeding the ball up the pool. Tadpole Ellie found great space and scored a lovely goal. 2-1 Bath.
After a quick prep talk, Leech reminded everyone of the objective. I was not going to Exeter again, under no circumstances. The girls had great communication this quarter, that mainly being jokes but at least we got a few giggles in. Tadpole Tash moved well in goal, and help us organise our attack. Falala managed to slide past their defense and score us a goal. It would be no Barts game if Helsinki didn’t get herself a few majors. But she knew we needed to practice our man down skills, and took the majors for us to practice. Bath did manage to get a few sneaky goals past us this quarter. 2-8 to Bath.
The half time table consisted of fuck it play any position you’ve ever dreamed of. I was NOT and I repeat NOT going to Exeter. Tapole Aida tried her hand at playing pit A, creating great movement and space. The girls were tight with their defence practicing crashing and a few more man down drills. Miracle Flow was finessing her outfield skills, preparing to be the best multifaceted player Barts has ever seen. With a strong defence Bath only score two goals this quarter. 2-10 Bath.
The finale of our fun, fuck it, training match commenced. Tapole Ellie won the swim off to give us the first attack. The girls made light work of feeding the ball around pit and giving options to pass. The girls stayed with them on every counter with ease. With a swift attack, Tadpole Ellie took an opportunity and scored another lovely goal. Leech requested Tash have some practice with pens, so Ick-thys took the bullet and fouled their player. Will smiles on our faces the match ended. 3-15 to Bath. And you know what not a bad day at the office.

DoD: Bath for trying to walk us over for having a shallow end
